You can track more than one topic in a single AIDular prompt. The trick is being specific enough that the report stays focused and easy to act on, rather than turning into a wall of text.
Why Track Multiple Topics Together?
Sometimes two or three things are closely linked. A freelance designer might want to follow both design tool updates and client-budget trends at the same time. A student applying to grad school might track application tips alongside funding news.
Putting related topics in one prompt means one clean report lands in your inbox, instead of you juggling several emails.
But there is a catch. If your topics are too different, the report gets messy. Keep reading to see how to avoid that.
When to Combine Topics (and When Not To)
Good to combine:
- Topics that feed the same decision (example: "new JavaScript frameworks" and "front-end job market")
- Things you check for the same reason (example: two competitor brands)
- Updates in the same niche (example: two subreddits or two newsletters you used to read manually)
Better as separate prompts:
- Topics with very different update speeds (one changes daily, one changes monthly)
- Topics from completely different areas of your life (your side business and your gym routine)
- Anything where you need a deep dive on each one separately
How to Write a Multi-Topic Prompt
Follow these steps to keep your prompt clear.
- List each topic on its own line. Do not run them together in one sentence.
- Add a short context note for each. Tell AIDular why you care, so it knows what is relevant.
- Specify what you want for each. Headlines only? Summaries? Price mentions? Be direct.
- Set one shared schedule that fits the slowest-moving topic in the list.
Step-by-step example
Say you run a small online store and you want to keep an eye on two things: shipping carrier pricing and e-commerce platform updates.
Here is a copy-paste prompt you could use in AIDular:
Topic 1: Shipping carrier pricing changes (FedEx, UPS, USPS, DHL)
- I run a small online store and need to know about any rate changes or surcharges.
- Give me a short summary of any announcements from the past week.
Topic 2: Shopify and WooCommerce platform updates
- I want to know about new features, pricing changes, or anything that affects store owners.
- One or two bullet points per platform is enough.
Schedule: Weekly
Send to: [your email]
That is it. Short, clear, one topic per section.
Tips for Keeping the Report Readable
- Use numbered or labeled topics. AIDular mirrors your structure, so if you label them clearly, the report sections will be clear too.
- Limit yourself to three or four topics per prompt. More than that and the report gets hard to skim.
- Ask for bullet points, not paragraphs. Add a line like "summarize as bullet points" if you want a quick read.
- Review after the first report. If one topic keeps coming up empty, it might need its own prompt with different wording.
A Note on Schedule Choice
When combining topics, pick the schedule that fits the topic that changes least often. If one topic is fast-moving (daily news) and another is slow (quarterly reports), consider splitting them. A weekly prompt for daily news means you might miss something you cared about.
If you are not sure, weekly is usually the sweet spot. It gives enough time for meaningful updates to appear, but you are not waiting a whole month.
