Templates in AIDular are ready-made prompts you can copy, tweak, and run straight away. Instead of writing a tracker from scratch, you start from something that already works and make it yours.
Why Templates Are Worth Using
Writing a good prompt takes a few tries. A template skips that learning curve. You get a tested structure, clear instructions, and a format that AIDular already knows how to handle.
Templates also help if you track more than one thing. You can use the same pattern for different topics without thinking about it each time.
How to Find and Use a Template
Follow these steps to go from zero to a working tracker in under two minutes.
- Open AIDular at aidular.com and click "New Tracker."
- Browse the template library. Templates are grouped by use case, such as news, prices, jobs, and research.
- Pick the one closest to what you need. It does not have to be a perfect match.
- Read it once before you edit it. Notice the structure: what to search for, what to include in the report, and any filters.
- Replace the placeholder text with your own details. Swap out the topic, the source names, or the geography.
- Set your schedule. Daily works for fast-moving topics. Weekly suits most news and research. Monthly is good for slow trends.
- Add your email (or a teammate's) and save.
That's it. AIDular runs the search on your chosen schedule and emails you the report.
What a Good Edited Template Looks Like
Here is an example. Start with a general "Industry News" template and edit it for your needs:
Original template:
Search for the latest news about [industry]. Include headlines, a one-sentence summary for each, and a source link. Focus on developments from the past 7 days.
Edited version (copy-paste ready):
Search for the latest news about the electric vehicle battery market. Include headlines, a one-sentence summary for each, and a source link. Focus on developments from the past 7 days. Prioritise news from Europe and the US. Skip opinion pieces and press releases.
Those small additions, the geography filter and the content filter, make the report much cleaner. You stop getting results you do not care about.
Three Easy Edits That Improve Any Template
- Add a geography filter. "Focus on the UK" or "global only" cuts out noise.
- Set a recency rule. "Past 7 days" or "past 30 days" keeps results fresh.
- Name what to skip. "Skip opinion pieces," "skip job ads," or "skip social media posts" tells AIDular exactly what you do not need.
When to Build From Scratch Instead
Templates cover most common use cases. But sometimes your need is specific enough that a template will slow you down more than it helps.
Build from scratch if:
- You are tracking something very niche, like a single product's review scores on one retailer.
- You need a very particular report structure that no template matches.
- You want to combine two very different topics in one report.
For everything else, a template is the faster starting point.
Save Your Own Templates Too
Once you have edited a template and it gives you a good report, save it. AIDular lets you duplicate any tracker. Use that copy as your own personal template the next time you need something similar. Over time you build a small library of prompts that work for you specifically.
Try it free at aidular.com. The Lite plan costs nothing, and you can have a tracker running in a few minutes using any template from the library.
